"What makes you smile"

I had always intended to put a photo like this for "what makes me smile" because on a weekly basis this mottly crew always make me smile/laugh.
Lucas and a few of his mates on their way to play tennis this afternoon.



Lucky Nick has a girlfriend because this outfit does him no justice.



Lots of things make me smile but if you don't know by now......
I am a dog lover........
so on a walk on Brighton beach these made me smile.





There were babies and old ones, skinny one and fat ones, low to the ground ones, ones who didn't mind getting wet, ones that loved balls, white ones, black ones, brown ones, big ones, small ones, running ones, on leads and off leads, ones pulling their leads.




and ones that could stick their tongues out.

I found it by googling "Reflection Photography" and it brought me to this site. Worth scrolling down, some great photos with reflections in wine glasses. (appealed to me anyway!)

My camera hasn't made it out of the bag in days/weeks, not sure how long it has been. Totally occupied with family matters at the moment.

Like Leanne I looked through my archives, but anything suitable was of the lake and I had blogged it before.

I will catch up when time allows.

This has been a challenge as the only reflection happening around here would be in a puddle. So I will own up and say I have pulled an old photo from the gazillion I have on my computer. I was hoping I wouldn't have to do this. I had thought I might go up to the city and take some reflections in the windows but really the sun hasn't shone here for the whole week and it has been freezing. The only decent weather we have had was on the weekend and I was at a workshop.

tooo much of a challenge to find a still water reflection with all the wind so I went for a reflective state.............I could stare into this for ages..........(sea urchin in the water)

Clouds have challenged me if I was out with out my camera I saw the most amazing clouds or if I was driving saw a great cloud stopped to take the photo they had changed.
When I went walking with my camera I saw none that were great.

My Favourite Colour

My Favourite Colour

Sounds simple enough, but it ended up harder than I thought.

I have a strong affection for green, but it is not my favourite colour.

I am also drawn to orange, but again it is not my favourite.

Then there is red. Until recently I never gave it a thought, but more and more is making its way into my home and I love it!

So where is this leading?

To BLACK and WHITE!! I love black and white, it is my favourite colour combination. I know there are purists that will argue neither are actually colours but I love them. My shoes, my hand bag, wallet, all accessories are always black. I always have black trousers, Capri's, shorts. This summer my new top is white with black, grey and a bit of bling.

On to photos. I haven't experimented with black and white photography before and I seriously need to practice. I know these are not good. Contrast seems to be the key.

For this weeks challenge I went to a favourite place, the beach, and tried to capture it monochromatically.

The last photo is a personal favourite. My younger daughter and a long time (older) friend of mine. On the jetty feeding the fish. Just a snippet from our week.

Next week will be interesting - clouds.
Lots and lots of hazy blue sky here and nothing else!
